We are so proud of our local area and want to ensure that we are playing an active role in maintaining the natural beauty of our Lancashire seaside town. We understand that’s there’s still a way to go – but here are some of the initiatives that we’ve already introduced: n Installation of nearly 70 solar panels on our roof to increase sustainability by using a renewable energy solution (with a further 30 panels to be installed over the course of the next year) n Choosing a green energy company to provide our electricity: Ecotricity (a company that only uses renewable energy e.g. wind or hydro) n Recycling all card, paper, plastic and metal (nearly all of our waste is recycled and reused) n Sourcing as much as we can from local suppliers – we strive to buy local wherever possible to not only support our community but all reduce unnecessary food miles and waste n Directors offsetting their carbon footprint for personal travel n Using low energy LED lights throughout the hotel – with many areas also fitted with PIRs to reduce energy usage further n Working on our plan to be carbon neutral by 2032 n Running Elgin Tours (our ABTA-bonded travel company) and encouraging coach travel WHY IS COACH TRAVEL SO GOOD FOR THE ENVIRONMENT? Did you know that coach travel is more eco-friendly than travelling by train or car? It has a lower carbon footprint, is more fuel efficient and also reduces congestion. Coach travel is also far less hassle, meaning that you can sit back, relax and enjoy the journey without having to worry about a thing. Plus, when you travel with Elgin Tours, it’s great value too! With return coach travel (from selected areas) from as little as £12 per person, we think it’s a no brainer! For full details on our Elgin Tours schedule, please see our mini Elgin Tours brochure. Why not give it a go? HOW CAN YOU HELP WHEN YOU STAY WITH US? Every little helps – and your support in our fight against climate change is much appreciated! Here are a few little things that add up to make a big difference: n Switch off all lights when leaving your bedroom n Reuse your towels more than once (you can signify that you don’t need your towels changing by hanging them back on the towel rail after use) n Turn off the TV when not in use n Unplug phone/tablet chargers when not in use n Close the windows when the heating is on n Pre-order your evening meal at breakfast time to help us reduce waste n Place your read newspapers at the side of the waste bin for easy recycling llll lll ll lll APRIL MIDWEEK BREAKS All Inclusive Midweek Breaks Monday 30th March – Friday 3rd April Monday 6th – Friday 10th April Monday 13th – Friday 17th April Monday 20th – Friday 24th April Monday 27th April – Friday 1st May 4 nights from £358pp 4 nights travelling with Elgin Tours from £373pp WEEKEND BREAKS Friday 3rd – Monday 6th April Easter Weekend feat.
